She wants to leave the US due to death threats...
UPDATE:TMZ reports that Halle Berry's desire to leave the country with her fiance and daughter has nothing to do with Gabriel Aubry, but rather because of death threats. Law enforcement sources report that a mentally unstable man named Robert Hoskins escaped from a mental institution last week and has made threats against Berry's life.
Hoskins previously made the same death threats against Madonna, threatening to slit her throat, and was shot by Madonna's bodyguard when he trespassed in 1995. Additionally, another stalker who found his way on Berry's property multiple times has been released from jail. Berry is said to be very concerned considering Starmaps and Hollywood bus tours point her house specifically out, and that Gabriel Aubry keeps taking Nahla in front of paparazzi, possibly putting her in harm's way.
ORIGINAL: Halle Berry is engaged. Berry and Olivier Martinez were assumed to have taken the step back in December when Berry was out sporting a new ring, but it was a false conclusion. Now TMZ reports that the couple became engaged some time after the first of the year.
The engagement is significant, as Berry has asked a judge to allow her to move to France with Martinez and their daughter Nahla. In California a judge considers the stability of the parents' relationships in determined custodial issues and marriage is more likely to come across well. Nahla's father Gabriel Aubry is objecting to the move.
